Mount Hope Farm Provincial Historic Site
690 Nerepis Road, (Route 177), Grand Bay-Westfield
This house was built by Henry Nase who rose in rank from private soldier to Regimental Sergeant Major in the King’s American Regiment, and was commissioned an Ensign at the end of the war. Sent to the St. John River as part of an advance group, he was charged with securing good land and building a home for his Major, John Coffin. He lived in a log cabin near Woodmans Point before constructing this home in 1786.
